More than 30 state-approved private special education schools throughout Northern, Metro and Central New Jersey have joined forces to make it easier for parents and school districts to find information, referral and support for students that need special education services.
The organization’s website also features a School Finder that allows parents and school districts to search for a private special education school by disability, age and location, making it easy to find a school that is a good match.
“I have talked to many other parents, and I know how hard that process can be,” said Debra Horowitz, Esq., the Alliance outreach coordinator and herself the parent of a son with disabilities.”
In addition to the School Finder, the website includes advocacy resources, links and other information about special education.
Special education experts from The Alliance are also available at no cost to speak to parent groups throughout Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.
